A mercenary from the UK with the call sign Rambo went to fight in Ukraine and barely survived, having been seriously injured during the fighting. This is reported by the Daily Mail.
According to the publication, 40-year-old Briton Sharif Amin arrived in Ukraine shortly after the start of the Russian special operation. Prior to that, he served for nine years in the 1st Infantry Battalion of the British Army and, among other things, took part in two missions in Afghanistan. In Ukraine, Amin was first engaged in the delivery of humanitarian aid, then was involved in the training of Ukrainian soldiers, and then personally joined the units of the country's armed forces participating in the battles.
Two weeks ago, while patrolling the front line, a Briton along with his unit came under artillery fire from the Russian military. As a result, he received shrapnel wounds to all limbs. In addition, Amin received several bullet wounds in the back: the bullets passed through the bulletproof vest and pierced both the man's lungs.
According to the Briton, he miraculously managed to get out of the trench in which he was when the shelling began, and get to the commander of the unit. He was able to drag him to a shelter, from where after a while Amin and his colleague were evacuated on armored personnel carriers and taken to the hospital.
As the man noted, the doctors assumed that he would not survive. However, despite the poor prognoses of doctors, Amin has recovered and is now able to move independently, although he still feels poorly in his right arm and leg.
